In a tweet, Sarasotans United tweeted: “Dear Sarasots,We’re in contact with the Sarastota Police Department and they want to know if they can assist in this matter.”
The statement added: “Sarasota Police have been informed of the incident and are in the process of investigating.
Any information provided will be used to inform their investigation.”
The public relations department has said that it would be providing support to the Saraskas.
It has also asked SarasOTA residents to contact police with any concerns or questions.
Meanwhile, the public affairs department has told the media that the incident occurred on the day the Sarayas voted for a new mayor.
Sarayas mayor, Mebodile Dieng, is in jail after being charged with treason for allegedly accepting money from the Chinese firm of Zhejiang Jiaotong International Construction Co, or ZJIC.
