Posted January 13, 2019 06:53:24A public relations firm has closed its doors after five years.
Westshore Public Relations announced it would close in October.
The news was met with disappointment on social media, with some users pointing out the firm had already shut down its website in February 2017.
The closure was first announced in a press release on the firm’s website.
It stated the firm would be closed on January 14, 2019 and its remaining assets would be sold to a “third party”.
A spokesman for Westshore told the ABC the closure would result in “significant costs”.
Westshore did not specify how much of the firm was being sold and the company did not respond to requests for comment.
However, it is believed the firm will be sold for $10 million to a company based in Australia, which is likely to be an affiliate of a local media company.
Westside also did not say how much the firm lost during the closure.
Westbury PR director Chris Lohr said the firm, which has been in business since 2007, had struggled with its own financial position.
“The closure of Westshore represents a huge challenge for the firm and a huge blow to its employees and their families,” he said.
Westworth and Westshore have a long history.
Westland was founded in 1900 and in 1953, Westshore Communications was created.
In the 1980s, Westbury PR became Westshore Media, a subsidiary of Westbury.
Westwood PR, which was founded by Westwood founder Sir John Ayer, was also founded in the 1980t.
In 2015, Westwood Media merged with Westbury to become Westwood PR.
Westwoods public relations group has since been dissolved.
